gomoney is a digital financial service product (“The Platform”), developed by Go Financial Services Ltd through a collaboration with Sterling Bank Plc (“Sterling”). Sterling is a financial institution registered in Nigeria and is the issuer of all banking products offered on the gomoney app. This policy is to inform you of how we collect, use and store personal information provided by you when you visit our website• (gomoney.global), or use the gomoney application and the associated services at any time (“The Service”). We use your data to provide and improve your experience on the gomoney website and application. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of personal information in accordance with this policy. The information we hold about you
Information submitted through our app or website: Personal data, or personal information means any information provided by you with which you can be identified. When you sign up to the app and provide details such as your name, ID (passport data page, national ID), biometric data/BVN, your photograph, house address, email address, phone number, voice recordings (when you call our helpline) and other details which would enhance your service experience: Details about your transactions with us This includes your gomoney transaction history, gomoney cards, information you provide to deliver payment for services, frequent transactions and any external bank account numbers you opt to save on your gomoney account Information on how you use your device We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service or when you access the website by or through a computer ('Usage Data'). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. When you access the Service by or through a mobile device or use the mobile app, this Usage Data may include information such as the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. We only have access to information you choose to share with us. This information may include access to your phonebook, current location, camera or photos. We do not store or upload your information to our servers, we only collect what we need to improve your experience. Other information We may also process specific categories of information for specific and limited purposes, such as detecting and preventing financial crime or making our services available to customers. We will only treat particular types of information where we have obtained your explicit consent or are otherwise lawfully permitted to do so.
Information we collect from your phone
We collect this information to optimize your banking experience. This includes your: • Operating system and device ID, so we can analyse how our app works and fix any issues. • If you authorise your location, we can help protect you against fraud in a situation where your account has been accessed from a different location. • Phone contacts so you can pay and split the bills with your active friends on gomoney seamlessly (we don't store your full address book). • Mobile advertising ID, to enable us communicate properly with you and tailor adverts to your needs. • Details you give when you sign up for a gomoney account, like your BVN, name, date of birth, gender, phone number, residential address, and email address. • Your profile picture. • We collect a photo of your face during a liveness check done to confirm that you're the one upgrading your gomoney account. We then share this photo with a third-party service to facilitate our liveness check. • Details of your gomoney debit cards including the card number, expiry date and CVC (the last three digits of the number on the back of the card) • Information about your identity, such as a copy of your ID document • Information you give us through in-app chat and emails; and • Answers you give to surveys about gomoney and our services.
How We Gather Information
We collect and review generic usage information to help us understand how you and other users use the gomoney app so we can improve your experience. The information we collect include: • Information you give to us through the app, website or other touch points. • Information that we receive from agencies including credit reference, fraud prevention or government agencies, other banks, and third-party agents who provide services to you or us. • Information that you have given us permission to collect from the technology you use to access our services (location data from your mobile phone, IP addresses, telephone number) and how you use it. • Information we collect from publicly available sources, such as the press, company registers and online search engines.
How we use the information
How long will we keep your information
We will keep your personal data for as long as we have a relationship with you, i.e. for as long as you use the app, remain validly subscribed to our newsletter or partake in surveys. Once that relationship with you has come to an end (e.g. following closure of your account) or cancellation of your subscription to the Service), we will not gather or collect any new information about you. Once the relationship is over, we will only retain personal data for a period of time. This period will vary depending on the purpose for which we hold that information and subject to business or legal and regulatory requirements.
Who we share the information with
Your information, including Personal Data, may only be accessed by employees that have a business reason to do so. We also share relevant information with partners who assist us in serving you better. We require that these parties agree to process such information based on our instructions and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations on data protection, this Privacy Notice and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures. By using our site or online banking applications, you consent to our Privacy Notice and you have the right to: • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you • Request that we supply you with an electronic copy of the personal information that you have provided us with • Inform us of correction to your personal information • Exercise your right to restrict our use of their personal information • Exercise your right to erase their personal information • Object to particular ways in which we are using your personal information These rights are however subject to constraints. For instance, we won't be able to change/correct your personal information if you have given us reason to believe you have been fraudulent or are putting us in a position where we might break the law.

We are not responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any information you share publicly or with friends. Our Service may also allow you to connect with us on, share on, and use third-party websites, applications, and services. We use computer safeguard such as firewalls and data encryption, enforce physical access to our buildings and files and only authorize access to personal information to only employees who require it to fulfill their job responsibilities or our affiliates as may be required in the provision of our services to you. However, as the internet is not always a secure medium, and we cannot guarantee that security breaches will not occur. Accordingly, we are not responsible for the matters, which include actions of hackers and other unauthorized third parties that breach our reasonable security procedure. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your Personal Information. You also play a role in protecting your Personal Information. Please safeguard your passcodes for your gomoney account and do not share them with others. If we receive instructions using your gomoney account login information, we will consider that you have authorized the instruction. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your gomoney account or any other breach of security. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to refuse to provide our Services, terminate gomoney accounts, and to remove or edit content.
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 16 ('Children'). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 16. If you are under the age of 16, do not subscribe to our Service or submit any information to us. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child(ren) has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
Changes to this policy
Based on the changing nature of privacy laws, user needs and our business, we may modify this Privacy Notice from time to time.
